More Engine Assembly - September 7, 2020
Honestly, I'm running out of things to do on the engine, and most of this stuff is pretty easy:
Easy 1) Installed the spark plug wires:Easy 2) Installed a new oil filter:
Easy 3) Oil Pressure Sensor:
Easy 4) Coolant Temperature Sensor:
Easy 5) Thermostat Housing\Thermostat - this is a one piece
assembly - the thermostat can't be separated from the housing.
I included pictures of the old one, so you can see why I
replaced it...
6) Motor Mounts Painted with Steel-It - Mark's favorite steel
coating. I used Steel-It on these because there are a couple of
strong tack welds that have to be done after the position is
finalized. This picture also shows the new AC Compressor
Brackets.
7) New AC Compressor Installed. There's a good chance that I'll
have to notch the frame to clear the AC fittings or AC
compressor. (The brackets were removed for painting after this
picture was taken.) This is not the GM compressor - it's a
Sanden compressor recommended for the Vintage Air AC System.
8) I also cleaned up the Intake Manifold. It doesn't look bad in this picture, but it was pretty dirty - there are lots of little nooks and crannies where the dirt collects. I'm going to service the injectors myself - replacing the o rings and filters. And, I'm going to just replace one of the injectors. (If you recall, based on the plugs, it looked like the #1 injector was leaking.)

It will likely be a couple of weeks before another update - I'll
be busy on other things next weekend.
