More Distraction - YJ Seat Cover and Heater - the other side - March 20, 2021

The passenger side seat cover arrived, so I got that installed - same process as before - pretty easy!

Before:

During (seat heaters in white):

After:

Seat heater connectors:

I had previously made a panel for my ARB switch and air gauge, and decided to just make a new panel to add the seat heater switches:

Old panel:

Backside of panel:
I use a pneumatic switch for my ARB and didn't use the ARB electric solenoid that they provide - it just seemed like another failure point.  I carry spare air hoses and fittings, so I could re-configure the air lines to bypass the pneumatic switch if it was ever necessary.  I vent the ARB line out under the hood - not into the cab!

New panel:

Greenlee punches are great:

The new panel is shorter:

Bent:

Painted and Installed:

All the wiring will be hidden when installation is complete:

It looks like the switches aren't centered, but I think it is actually the bend that is off...oops!

I still need to finish up the power wiring - that should be done today.  I really should have done this 6 months ago, so I could have used the seat heaters this winter.  My project planning was terrible!

Preview of another YJ distraction:
My AX15 has been shifting hard into some gears recently.  I bought it used many years ago, and I have no idea of the miles or history of it.  I went ahead and bought a new AX15 from Advanced Adapters, along with a new Luk flywheel, Luk clutch kit, new flywheel bolts, etc.  This will hopefully all be finished up in a single weekend in the next month or so.

As always, my young apprentice will be called upon for muscle for the AX15 swap:
I added this picture to see if he actually reads these posts - I'm guessing not! Yes, he's holding a Bob Ross crockpot that he got for his birthday!
