TJ Engine Distraction...Conclusion
There has been no progress at all for the past couple of weeks. Chase and I drove 500 miles with my car hauler to pickup my daughter's 1999 TJ, and 500 miles back with it on the trailer...damn gas prices
Special props to Chase for helping fix his sister's Jeep during his spring break! Out with the old...226k miles with a rod knock:
After the engine was pulled, the AX15 got a new front seal. The arm, pivot ball, throw out bearing, etc, were also all replaced. The throw out bearing was in particularly bad shape.
The swap went pretty well. We cursed at the Jeep engineers daily. The mix of standard and metric fasteners on her TJ is maddening.
Amazon shipped me a heater hose wrapped up like a pretzel. It might have been okay, but I returned it. I didn't like that kink in it:
1999 TJs have a plastic power steering pump pulley. It had a bunch of tight cracks in it, so I replaced it with a new plastic pulley.
All buttoned up and driving:
My ride for the next couple of weeks...I have to make sure that it operates properly!
PS: So there is no confusion, please note that I had nothing to do with the installation of the exposed red subwoofer wire.
