CJ7 Tailgate continued:

I made some neat cage brackets for the CJ tailgate :
Greenlee punches...they're the bomb!

Swag bandsaw stand...it's the bomb!

Harbor Freight Sheetmetal Brake...not the bomb, but functional and cheap:

Test Fit:

Weld plan...a few tacks where shown:

The welding plan was good needed more thought.  The actual welding was very difficult.  Visibility was extremely poor...the access hole was too small...the weld-thru primer was causing all sorts of issues...but I got them fixed in place.

And the access covers were welded shut, primed, seam sealed and painted.  It's not gorgeous, but it will also only be seen if the gas tank is ever removed:

Gas Tank Installation:

First, I checked and labeled all the wiring in the rear of the Jeep, since the gas tank covers up some of the wiring.
The previous owner removed most of the wiring, but left the rear body harness for the tail lights, fuel pump, etc.  Luckily, all the wires checked out good and were labeled to make future wiring easier:

The gas tank went in pretty easily...I was able had to do it myself since someone overslept that morning.

I still need to mount a fuel filter, so the hose is long right now:

  Next...back to the firewall!
