LS1 Engine Purchase Feb 2019

 Another component gets selected and purchased...this time a 2004 LS1 5.7L engine out of a Corvette with only 83k miles.  This particular engine was fairly expensive, but had several advantages:

  1. low miles
  2. aluminum block, so lighter weight
  3. very compact accessories to make it easier to fit under the short Jeepster hood
  4. it's just cool to have a Corvette engine in a Jeep
  5. it was complete with all needed accessories - the pedal, ECM, wire harness, etc.
  6. it is drive by wire, so it will be fairly easy to get cruise control working - that was another feature that I wanted in the finished Jeepster.
